The necessity of an alternative model of western modernity and the resulting civilization in the new era prompted the author to seek an answer to this basic question: given the centrality of the relationship between tradition and modernity in every contemporary political thought and practice, how and with what model can intellectual foundations and political insight of AyatAllah Khamenei be formulated in contemporary political thought, in terms of the relationship between Islamic tradition and political modernity? During two hundred years in their modern history, Muslims faced a completely new phenomenon, interacting with which has caused difficult requirements for them demanding new efforts. In the meantime, the main preoccupation of Ayatollah Khamenei in the face of modernization.The paper has been carried out in a descriptive- analytical way, using library resources, and a critical approach, using phenomenological data, including historical phenomenology.Modernity has been a great transformation in human life, which included both the relationship between man and nature, and the relationship between man and man, and the relationship between man and the world beyond. Therefore, to understand its various manifestations, one must seek the essence of modernity. Behind these various and contrasting manifestations, one can look for the essence that determines the "nature and heart" of modernity, such a thing has been done. Habermas refered to Hegel to search for the essence of modernity.
