Civilizational Considerations in Post-Revolutionary Discourse on Women: A Pathological Reflection

Abstract

The Islamic Revolution emerged as a civilized approach to the issue of women and was able to offer its own model by responding to the challenges posed by tradition and modernity in this field. This model challenged the prevailing stereotypes and assumptions in the theoretical studies of women and in the lived experience of many women in Iran and other parts of the world. However, it seems that today its unifying, semantic and monotheistic descriptions are not granted enough attention and this negligence is sometimes seen in the discourses attributed to the Islamic Revolution. The present article deals with the pathology of these discourses in relation to the three characteristics of the rupture of life, other religiosity and superficiality and their negative effects on the civilized aspect of the Islamic Revolution.
